Future Space Mural by Cai Burton

Celebrating… Scientists, engineers and innovators

Future Space Murals

Future Space is an office and lab space based in Bristol. Innovation is central to their work, and they provide spaces for businesses, researchers, scientists and more to do their work.

In 2019, I worked with them on several murals for their meeting rooms. These murals were inspired by the scientists, engineers and innovators that these rooms were named after: Stephen Hawking, Marie Curie, Thomas Edison, Alan Turing and Sarah Guppy.

Each mural had a different theme, but were tied together through cohesive colours and shapes that were influenced by the Future Space branding.

The designs also featured quotes from them, with the addition of Ada Lovelace for Sarah Guppy room. Sarah Guppy was a local Bristolian inventor, she created many bizarre and interesting contraptions in her time, and created bridge building techniques that were said to inspire Brunel in his creation of the Bristol Suspension Bridge.
